44 Gloves & 75 Baseballs Collected for Troops!

photoAs our drive to collect Gloves 4 Troops ended this past week, the City of Corona along with your help and the help of all our friends at Corona Cages, we were able to collect a total of 44 gloves and approximately 75 balls for the Gloves 4 Troops drive.

As Vance Albitz, a minor league shortstop in the St. Louis Cardinals’ organization, continues on his strive to collect 1000 gloves before spring training, we were glad to be a part of it! The gloves, balls, and letters from Corona residents will be sent out to our troops all around the world giving them a taste of home.

According to the Gloves 4 Troops website they have so far reached 797 gloves so far, and have just 5 days to go before Albitz heads out to spring training.

If you missed our local drive at Corona Cages, you can still participate online at Gloves 4 Troops. Thanks again for all your help supporting our troops!

“I see great things in baseball.  It’s our game – the American game.  It will take our people out-of-doors, fill them with oxygen, give them a larger physical stoicism.  Tend to relieve us from being a nervous, dyspeptic set.  Repair these losses, and be a blessing to us.”  -Walt Whitman
