Many of these vintage structures have been well maintained over the decades and represent the city’s rich architectural heritage. There are other homes greater than 50 years of age that are in need of repair, renovation or just plain “sprucing up” to renew their ageless charm and luster.
Money is hard to come by and today’s economy makes improvement projects more than a bit of a challenge to owners of historic homes wishing to upgrade their properties. Assistance is available from a local nonprofit organization to accomplish tasks such as painting, porch repair or restoration due to dry rot or termites, siding and shingle replacement, roof repair as well as other improvements to restore the architectural character to the exterior of older homes.

Corona Historic Preservation Society (CHPS) recently implemented a grant program, or gift of money, with a specific purpose, to defray some of the costs of materials to restore or refurbish the appearance of older homes in Corona.
See the
CHPS web page for further details on this program. Application forms are available at Corona’s Community Development Department at City Hall
