Conserve Energy With FREE Lamp Exchange
Offered to Corona Residents who own Hazardous Halogen Torchiere Floor Lamps
The City of Corona, in cooperation with the Community Energy Partnership, will be hosting an ongoing FREE Lamp Exchange at Dollar Self Storage, 1065 E. Third Street. This event allows Corona residents to trade in their old halogen torchiere floor lamp for an energy efficient fluorescent model valued at $60. The Lamp Exchange will be held at Dollar Self Storage, through fall 2009 or while supplies last. Halogen lamps can burn as hot as 1,000°F and are responsible for hundreds of fires.

In order to encourage further green practices, you can also drop-off any electronic waste or “e-waste”, which will be recycled. The proceeds help the Corona Public Library Foundation purchase new computers for use by the public. The e-waste program at Dollar Self Storage is on-going. The Lamp Exchange and e-waste collection is taking place now at Dollar Self Storage located at 1065 E. Third Street.
You can drop off lamp(s) and e-waste Monday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm or Sunday 10am to 3pm and no appointment is needed. You must be a Southern California Edison customer to participate in the “lamp exchange program” and only floor lamps with halogen light bulbs will be accepted.
