The scoping meeting in the City of Corona will take place Tuesday, October 20th from 3 to 7pm at the Corona Public Library. The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), as the lead agency for the California Environmental Quality Act process, is issuing a Notice of Preparation (NOP) of a project Environmental Impact Report/Statement (EIR/EIS) for the Los Angeles to San Diego via the Inland Empire Section of the proposed California High-Speed Train System (HST). The Authority is issuing the NOP to solicit public and agency input into the development of the scope of the EIR/EIS and to advise the public that outreach activities will be conducted by the Authority and its representatives in preparation of the joint EIR/EIS. The NOP, NOI, public scoping meeting dates and locations are available at www.cahighspeedrail.ca.gov.

Dedicated by the City in 1971, Contreras Park is named after Miguel Zaragoza Contreras, who was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and the first Hispanic Corona resident killed in the Vietnam War in 1967. Centrally located in Corona, the park has recently undergone a much-needed renovation.
