Are You Registered to be Notified of Emergencies?

Last year the City of Corona instituted and improved the local notification system that is able to send telephone notifications to residents and businesses within City of Corona. The Emergency Notification System is used by emergency response personnel to notify those homes and businesses at risk with information on emergency events and/or actions (such as evacuation) by way of voice message, text or email. The system utilizes the area’s 911 database, provided by the local telephone company, and thus is able to contact land-line telephones whether listed or unlisted. It is TTY/TDD capable.

Recognizing that some telecommunications systems may not always be reliable or functional in the event of emergencies, it should be considered as another method of relaying important information to the citizens of Corona while they continue to monitor other public safety warning and information systems (such as television and radio) whenever possible.

Because the system uses the 9-1-1 database provided by the local telephone company, only land-line numbers are in the system. If you have a Voice over IP (VoIP) or cellular telephone and would like to be notified over that device, or if you would like to receive notification by email or text, you must register those telephone numbers and/or email addresses for use by the system. The Corona Fire Department would like to remind and encourage Corona businesses and residents to register VoIP, cellular telephone or email addresses at the Self-Registration Portal to be included in this valuable notification system.

Please note that the caller ID will register 615-843-6147 with name of Corona EmergInfo.
