Confidence Renewed in Corona Marketplace

Sierra Bella 1A brand new housing development project is under way in Corona for the first time in more than five years showing huge steps forward in our local economy.

After being put on hold since the initial Specific Plan for the Sierra Bella Project had been approved in 2005, the Sierra Bella Specific Plan has gone back to Planning and Housing Commission and to City Council this April and has completed the entitlement process. The project will now move into plan check.

The plans provide Corona with a new gated community off the southwestern side of Green River Road and Paseo Grande. Continue reading…

Texas Roadhouse to Open 2nd SoCal Location in Corona!

Texas Roadhouse was a big topic discussed at the Infrastructure Committee Meeting held at Corona City Hall February 13, 2013. The national restaurant chain is making efforts to establish its second Southern California location here in Corona.

A proposal to demolish an existing restaurant facility and construct a new 10,414 square foot restaurant located at 370. N McKinley Street [MAP] was brought before the committee and plans to open this legendary steakhouse were discussed.

The restaurant has submitted their precise plans for review.

“The site plan has been worked over by staff; some refinement and fine tuning are taking place, but there are not any major issues as identified by City staff,” said City of Corona Planning Manager Terry Manuel. Continue reading…

Citrus Circle Apartments to Come to Corona

Plans for a new low income housing development to be built in Corona were discussed on the morning of January 9th at an Infrastructure Committee meeting in the City Council board room at Corona City Hall.

Council Member Eugene Montanez called the meeting to order and Joanne Coletta opened the discussion on a proposal to construct Citrus Circle Apartments, an affordable housing project consisting of 42 new multi-family units and 19 refurbished multi-family units located on the east side of Buena Vista Avenue and south of the State Route 91 in Corona [MAP].

For the project to move forward 2 variances will have to be approved against local zoning requirements for the property. Continue reading…

Corona Tops Other Locations: SternoCandleLamp Latest HQ

Corona, CA, is synonymous with ‘economic growth’. Companies continue to relocate within the City of Corona leading to low industrial vacancies and increased high skilled jobs. The latest to make the move is Candle Lamp, moving west from Riverside. Candle Lamp acquired the 119-year-old The Sterno Group, LLC October 2012 and will be consolidating their corporate headquarters into a newer 12,000 square foot building located at 1880 Compton Avenue Suite 100, Corona, CA 92881.

Corona Economy Continues to Build Momentum in Inland Region

WestLiving LLC Entitles Senior and Memory Care Project

Westliving LLC, an acquisition and development company from Carlsbad, CA chose Corona to develop their next resort style assisted living and memory care facility. The project will have a 96,274 square foot two-story building consisting of 110 units on 4.91 acres located on the east side of California Avenue, just south of Taber Road.

The City of Corona Planning and Housing Commission reviewed the development architecture, site design and landscaping on October 22, 2012. With approval the development continues through their entitlement process. Once the project gets approved, an additional option is available for senior living and memory care services. National Developer Chooses Corona for New Project!

Trammell Crow Company, a real estate development and investment firm from Dallas, TX has chosen Corona as the site of their latest development: Magnolia Point.

Magnolia Point will be an industrial park of 21. 28 acres which will be divided into four buildings, 528,520 sq ft. in total, located on the southwest corner of East Sixth Street and Magnolia Avenue.

The City of Corona Planning and Housing Commission reviewed the development architecture, site design and landscaping on October 22, 2012. With approval the development continues through their entitlement process.

Economy Rolling in Corona!

The City of Corona continues to lead the Inland Empire in business attraction efforts. Its success led to a 6% retail vacancy and sub- 3% industrial vacancy rate. According to Brandon Sudweeks, CEO of CBC Sudweeks Group, “Corona’s market is in full recovery with all market sectors improving significantly.”

The Steam Haus Gastropub’s grand opening at the Shops at Dos Lagos was back in September. Steam Haus is a full restaurant within Steampunk-themed English Pub surroundings. This theme brings flare to Dos Lagos and is sure to attract a young, cosmopolitan, hipster crowd.
