When America first moved West innovative cattlemen needed to herd cattle to parts of the country that did not have railroads which would mean they would be on the road for months at a time. The need to feed these cattlemen resulted in the creation of the chuckwagon. (Via) Like their name, there was nothing fancy about them. Rough shelves were built inside a covered wagon and they were filled with only the necessities. Salted meat, corn meal, and dried beans were staples. Eventually, as time went on, food trucks evolved.
Today you can get anything from a simple hot dog, to deep fried twinkies, to organic restaurants on wheels! Whether it’s a curried chicken sandwich, or hand churned ice cream–
you’ll be delighted at the food available.
On Saturday, August 25th, the food comes to you! Coming to The Shops at Dos Lagos in Corona, The Gourmet Food Truck Festival will feature 40 gourmet food trucks serving a variety of delicious dishes and tasty treats!
