The City of Corona Veterans Memorial is seeking community help to create more veteran profiles for the Veterans Memorial Kiosks. New entries now through March 13th have a chance to win a prize!
As one drives up and down Main Street in Corona you notice an array of banners on the light poles with the faces of several local heroes who serve in the United States Armed Forces, but that is not the only way the City of Corona recognizes our local heroes.
On Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2012 the City dedicated the newly constructed Veterans Memorial at City Hall. The long-awaited project was finally completed after having been in planning since early 2001 by the City of Corona and the Corona Veterans Memorial Division.
The memorial is located in the interior courtyard on the south entrance to the City Hall building and its design consists of a five-sided granite structure representing each branch of the military with their respective service medallions. Also in the courtyard are two kiosks that contain a database of local veterans.
These Kiosks have profiles on our local veterans and the City of Corona needs your help! In order to pay tribute to our heroes you can add a profile for a local veteran in the City of Corona Veterans Memorial Website and they will be added into our database of veterans for the memorial kiosks.
On March 13th, the Inner Circle Corona will draw a name of a local veteran from the new entries on our Veterans Memorial Site and the winner will win a free mug for the branch in which they served. Winner will be announced along with their bio on the Inner Circle Corona on March 14th.
Send this message along to all the heroes you know in Corona so we all can properly celebrate the sacrifice of men and women from our community who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
