There’s nothing like the sound of Classical Guitar–the individual notes can be haunting, or sweet, or even exciting! As much as you might love Rock or Country music, you have to admit that there is something extra special about the talent of those fortunate enough to have learned such delicate string harmonies.
On September 8th Classical Guitarist Lee Zimmer, and special guests, will present a unique recital especially created for the “Evening of Elegance” in the Fender Museum’s Visual Arts Gallery. The program consists mostly of Spanish and South American music performed solo and with guest performers throughout the show. All proceeds from the evening benefit the Kids Rock Free Combo Band Program a apart of the free and low-cost music education provided at the Center for kids ages 7 – 17.
The evening’s performance will include music by Isaac Albeniz, Manuel de Falla, Vivaldi, Barrios, and many others. Special guest artists will be joining Lee onstage for vocal, keyboard, guitar, and dance performances that will provide for a truly memorable night.
The concert will be preceded by a wine tasting reception in our Museum Exhibits featuring California wineries, complimentary cheeses, fruits & coffee. Stroll the displays and learn about the wines. Pianist Vicki Woods will provide the reception music. A fine art exhibit and sale by Robert Copple in cooperation with NCH Galleries will start at 6:00 p.m.
