Ghastly Vamps

A story by Emi Rose Barnett
Emi is 8 years old and in 3rd grade at Ben Franklin Elementary School in Corona

Once long ago, on a frightening, stormy night there was a lonely vampire. Her name was Vampnessa.  She was very lonely because all of her friends knew she was a vampire because of her name. It was way too obvious. Everyone carried pumpkins and carved jack-o-lanterns (pumpkins are worse than garlic to vampires) so she couldn’t go near them. And when someone saw her they yelled “Aaahhh!!! It’s Vampnessa! Run for your lives! Take cover!”

She’s not the only ghoulfriend treated like that. There is a ghost named Misty. She looks old and mean, but she’s young and kind! Everyone brings along torches to protect themselves from ghosts.

Once time when Vampnessa was shopping at a Halloween costume store, she tripped and fell on Misty. As soon as Misty saw Vampnessa was a vampire she said “Watch where you’re going fang-face.”

“I’m sorry but I tripped,” Vampnessa apologized!  “By the way, I’m Vampnessa. What’s your name?”
“My name is Misty. Everyone is fearful of me. Is it the same for you?” Misty questioned Vampnessa.
“Yes, but at least the good part is that some people think I’m in a costume!” Vampnessa answered. “I wish I wasn’t a vampire. I wish I was a ghost! I wouldn’t be allergic to pumpkins and garlic! My life would be much easier!”

Then Misty thought, I could just use my ghost magic to turn her into a ghost. “Okay then.” Misty remarked and used her ghost magic to turn Vampnessa into a fearful vampire ghost!
“Wow I’m a vampire ghost! Thank you so much! If I could help you or repay in any way you want, I will!”  Vampnessa exclaimed.
“Well there is one thing. I want to be a vampire! I wouldn’t have to eat booberries and gooseberries!” Misty explained.
“Alright I’ll do it!” Vampnessa replied as she bit Misty.

It turned her into a vampire ghost too! So now these days, Vampnessa and Misty go all over the world and people run in terror. But it doesn’t matter now because Misty and Vampnessa are together; giving a little fright on Halloween night. And they lived…..Spookily Ever After!
