Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration at City Hall

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way… to the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration! The annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration will take place on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the South Lawn of City Hall [MAP]. This eagerly anticipated family tradition features live entertainment, the lighting of the holiday tree, activities for children, and the return of the popular snow play area to begin the holiday season in Corona.

Veterans Day- A Time of Remembrance and Gratitude

Each and every day in every state in the union, young men and women from all walks of life enlist in our Armed Forces. On that day, they vow to protect our country, our freedom, and our way of life from threats across the globe with their very lives if necessary, by donning the uniforms of the United States Armed Forces. On Nov. 11, as a nation, we give thanks to those who have served, recommit our support of those still in uniform and pay homage to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our way of life.

Blood Drive @ Corona City Hall

The City of Corona, in conjunction with Lifestream, is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, October 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the City Hall Multipurpose Room. Donors will receive a $5 In-N-Out gift card (while supplies last). People often do not donate because they have misconceptions about the dangers of donating blood. Here are several myths involving donating blood and the actual facts.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

Corona City Hall is hosting a Riverside County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event Saturday and Sunday Oct. 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Corona City Hall Parking Lot [MAP]. This is a great time to recycle your old paint, used oil, chemicals, batteries, and propane tanks. Help protect our environment and make the City of Corona safe for our families. This event is open to all Riverside County and Corona residents. Drop off any leftover hazardous materials from your home or garage.

City of Corona Hosts a City Hall Open House

Corona City Hall is hosting an Open House Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the public is invited to come meet our departments, ask questions and learn more about the services and programs for Corona residents and businesses. Join us for some fun and Games! Explore the different departments and participate in our scavenger hunt. There will be plenty of activities for children and giveaways for all.

Blood Drive at City Hall

The need for blood increases during the summer months as people are more likely to be traveling and active at this time. These factors increase the risk of being involved in mishaps that require blood transfusion. The City of Corona, in conjunction with LifeStream, will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room. For every lifesaving donation participants will receive a coupon for a free pint of Baskin-Robbins ice cream (while supplies last) and points that may be redeemed for items through LifeStream’s online donor store at www.LStream.org.

Beware of Utility Scam in Corona

The City of Corona Department of Water & Power (DWP) recently became aware of a scam that occurred within the city. Telephone scammers posing as utility workers have been threatening customers with immediate termination of service for non-payment, demanding credit card information. If the customer did not have a credit card, they asked the customer to use or obtain a PayPal card.
