Bands, floats, and marching units are wanted for the City of Corona’s 2013 “Main Street USA Independence Day Parade,” taking place on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. The parade route will proceed north on Main Street, beginning at Pueblo Avenue and ending at Olive Street. This is a community parade thus no judging will take place nor awards distributed.
Entry Forms are available online on the Parks and Community Services Department webpage at www.DiscoverCorona.com or at the City of Corona Parks & Community Services Department, 400 S. Vicentia Ave., Suite 225 in Corona City Hall [MAP].

A brand new housing development project is under way in Corona for the first time in more than five years showing huge steps forward in our local economy.
After being put on hold since the initial Specific Plan for the Sierra Bella Project had been approved in 2005, the Sierra Bella Specific Plan has gone back to Planning and Housing Commission and to City Council this April and has completed the entitlement process. The project will now move into plan check.
The plans provide Corona with a new gated community off the southwestern side of Green River Road and Paseo Grande. Continue reading…

Corona City Council meetings are twice a month and during those meetings Mayor Jason Scott has requested that a rotation of City of Corona Department Head’s give a brief three-minute update on new developments in their department.

The Department of Water and Power (DWP) designed and built the City Hall California-Friendly Demonstration Garden to save water and educate residents and visitors about California-friendly landscaping. We’re celebrating the Demonstration Garden and we want you to join us! The Grand Opening of our California-Friendly Demonstration Garden at City Hall will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 8:00 a.m.to noon. in the City Hall parking lot [MAP].

The City of Corona Veterans Memorial is seeking community help to create more veteran profiles for the Veterans Memorial Kiosks. New entries now through March 13th have a chance to win a prize!
As one drives up and down Main Street in Corona you notice an array of banners on the light poles with the faces of several local heroes who serve in the United States Armed Forces, but that is not the only way the City of Corona recognizes our local heroes.

Plans for a new low income housing development to be built in Corona were discussed on the morning of January 9th at an Infrastructure Committee meeting in the City Council board room at Corona City Hall.
Council Member Eugene Montanez called the meeting to order and Joanne Coletta opened the discussion on a proposal to construct Citrus Circle Apartments, an affordable housing project consisting of 42 new multi-family units and 19 refurbished multi-family units located on the east side of Buena Vista Avenue and south of the State Route 91 in Corona [MAP].
For the project to move forward 2 variances will have to be approved against local zoning requirements for the property. Continue reading…
I bet you haven’t given much thought about the street sweeper trucks that keep your city of Corona neighborhood streets clean or the value they have to the curb appeal of our community. These unrecognized heroes are working hard to make our streets clean and give us quality of life within our neighborhoods. Without them, our streets would be full of unhealthy garbage, harmful debris and general nastiness.
“My son just loves to watch them sweep the street! It’s a regular thing we do every Wednesday-watch them sweep! After the trucks are gone, my son loves to run down to the curb and see how clean the gutter is!” said Anne Crain, a Corona resident. Continue reading…
