2014 National Take Back Initiative

On April 26, 2014, the Drug Enforcement Administration will be holding their Eighth Annual National Take Back Initiative event.

The goal of the program is to allow Southern Californians to deliver all of their unused, unwanted, or expired medications to law enforcement officials who can, in turn, dispose of these controlled substances in a secure and non-hazardous manner, potentially saving lives and protecting the ecosystem, while educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. 26 Restaurants to Participate in Dine Out for Jordan Day!

The City of Corona has proclaimed Monday, April 7 as “Dine Out for Jordan Walker Day”. On this day, 26 restaurants will be participating in the Corona Chamber of Commerce’s “Dine Out for Jordan” Day. Jordan Walker is a junior at Santiago High School, who suffered a major spinal cord injury while playing in a CIF football game on Nov. 22, 2013. Dine Out for Jordan was created by the Corona Chamber to draw traffic to local businesses on a usually slow day in an effort to raise a substantial amount of money for Jordan and his family. In addition to medical bills, the Walkers’ home will need to be remodeled for wheelchair access. Continue reading

City Hall to Host Blood Drive

Hopefully the recent earthquake and aftershocks have compelled you to think about earthquake readiness. The 5.1 quake affected dwelling units, power lines, water lines, roads, and some incurred injuries.
