Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration at City Hall

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way… to the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration! The annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration will take place on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the South Lawn of City Hall [MAP]. This eagerly anticipated family tradition features live entertainment, the lighting of the holiday tree, activities for children, and the return of the popular snow play area to begin the holiday season in Corona.

PD 2014 Volunteer Appreciation Event

On Nov. 13, 2014, the Corona Police Department hosted the 2014 Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at the Corona Public Library Grand Blvd Room. The dinner honors and recognized over 100 police volunteers who provide thousands of hours of service to the department and the community. The volunteers serve in various areas of the police department and are separated in different volunteer groups

Home for the Holidays Black Friday Week Event!

The City of Corona’s Animal Shelter has teamed with thousands of animal organizations from around the world to participate in an annual pet adoption drive called Home 4 the Holidays. home for the holidaysThe Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption drive began with a growing concern for the number of rescue facilities closing their doors during the holiday seasons.

Food Runners Hosts Third Annual Can Run!

Food Runners is hosting their third annual 5k Can Run to support the Corona- Norco Settlement house on Nov 15, 2014. Once again the Can Run will be collecting cans of food in lieu of a registration fee. In 2013 the Can Run brought in 3000 pounds of nonperishable food, with an attendance of more than 700 people and in 2012 the event collected 3057 pounds of goods with about 500 people in attendance.

Women’s Leadership Luncheon: Turning Pain into Power

Helping Others Turn Pain into Power and Grief into Peace Join us Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Sizzler Restaurant [MAP] where the Corona Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Corona, presents "Helping Others Turn Pain into Power and Grief into Peace" as part of the Women’s Leadership Luncheon series. Our special guest is Angela Alexander, an Author & Inspirational Speaker of her autobiography titled ‘Miracles in Action’.

Kids & Cops Holiday Magic in Corona

The Corona Police Department will be hosting the 11th Annual “Kids & Cops Holiday Magic” event on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at Sheridan Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event provides crafts, game activities, and a visit from Santa Claus for underprivileged children from our community. The program is made possible through community donations. Last year, over 1,000 children were presented with gifts made possible through these donations.

Corona PD Employee Recognition and Awards Banquet

On Oct. 24, 2014 the Corona Police Department celebrated their Third Annual Employee Recognition and Awards Banquet. As a night of appreciation, 84 police employees were recognized for distinguished years of service and outstanding police work.

Corona PD Prepares Teen Drivers with ‘Drive 4 Life’

The Traffic Bureau is proud to present its "Drive 4 Life" teen driver safety program Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014. This program is designed for young drivers who have a license as well as those who are about to get one. Our goal is to provide a FREE service to our community by educating our young drivers and their parents in an effort to promote traffic safety on our roadways and to prevent fatal traffic collisions.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

Corona City Hall is hosting a Riverside County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event Saturday and Sunday Oct. 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Corona City Hall Parking Lot [MAP]. This is a great time to recycle your old paint, used oil, chemicals, batteries, and propane tanks. Help protect our environment and make the City of Corona safe for our families. This event is open to all Riverside County and Corona residents. Drop off any leftover hazardous materials from your home or garage.

Star Wars Day at the Library!

Calling all Star Wars fans: the Corona Public Library is hosting Star Wars Day on Oct. 18, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meet and mingle with your favorite Star Wars characters and have your pictures taken, too! Even R2D2 will be here roaming about the Library.

City of Corona Hosts a City Hall Open House

Corona City Hall is hosting an Open House Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the public is invited to come meet our departments, ask questions and learn more about the services and programs for Corona residents and businesses. Join us for some fun and Games! Explore the different departments and participate in our scavenger hunt. There will be plenty of activities for children and giveaways for all.

The Corona Fire and Police Department invite you to attend our annual Public Safety Day on Oct. 4, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Join us for a day of fun, education and excitement for the entire family at the Crossings at Corona Shopping Center in front of Kohl’s Store, at Cajalco Rd. and I-15. This free event is family friendly and will feature information booths of many public safety related topics.

Corona Police Explorers Academy

On July 20, 2014, the Corona Police Department began hosting its fifth police explorer academy. The academy is a week-long and culminates with a graduation ceremony on Saturday, July 26, 2014. Thirty-three young men and women are enrolled in this year’s explorer academy. Each day the explorers receive instruction in a class setting, on subjects such as career choices, first aid, leadership, lifetime fitness, handcuffing, K-9 tactics and communications.

Women’s Leadership Luncheon: Your Local Government: Working for You

Have you ever wanted to know more about local government? Would you like to learn about the role of the City Council and how decisions are made? If so, then the next Women’s Leadership Luncheon is for you! On Wednesday, August 6th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1p.m. at the Sizzler Restaurant (1461 Rimpau Avenue), the Corona Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Corona will present “Your Local Government: Working for You” as part of the Women’s Leadership Luncheon series. The luncheon will feature Mayor Karen Spiegel who will explain the different forms of government and the role of the City Council.
