The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District, will hold a public meeting beginning at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 9 at the Corona High School Performing Arts Center[MAP] to present information and receive public input regarding preliminary plans for repainting a mural on the Prado Dam spillway.
March 12, 2015 the Corona Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual Business Expo at Crossroads Church from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. This event is open to the public, and attendees will have a chance to win $200 in cash, you need not be present to win!
Sudden Cardiac Arrest can occur anytime and the reality is that many people are not prepared or properly trained to recognize and assist those who are experiencing this condition. Those experiencing Sudden Cardiac Arrest are in need of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The Corona Fire Department is pleased to announce and provide a new CPR Training program to assist in Sudden Cardiac Arrest survivability. The “2 Hands + 2 Hours = 1 Life” training consists of video instruction, periods of lecture and realistic hands-on practice and takes less than two hours. Though the training does not provide a “certification” in CPR, it does give you the skills to save a person’s life.
The Friends of RCCD Forensics invite you to help celebrate their 10th Anniversary Benefit Art Auction on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona with your attendance. Local artists’ and Riverside Community College District student works in watercolor, acrylic, drawing, glass, jewelry, photography and more will be up for silent and live auction.

Soroptimist International of Corona and the Alliance for Family Wellness will be hosting an “Evening of Laughter” to be held on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. The silent auction and appetizers are at 6 p.m., followed by an exciting evening of outstanding comics that will have the audiences laughing. Headliner is Chris Strait from TRU-TV’s “Worlds Dumbest” and a collection of other performers including Mel Austin, Jason Love, Laniea D., and Gabriella Francis. The event will be held at the Historic Civic Center Auditorium at 815 West 6th Street in Corona.

Circle City Rotary and Corona Norco YMCA have teamed together to bring fun and flavor together to benefit our community with the first Annual Chili Cook-off and Craft Beer Festival. On Jan. 31, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Corona Norco Family YMCA at 1331 River Road in Corona [MAP], there will be a wonderful combination of food & fun for all ages.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way… to the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration! The annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration will take place on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the South Lawn of City Hall [MAP]. This eagerly anticipated family tradition features live entertainment, the lighting of the holiday tree, activities for children, and the return of the popular snow play area to begin the holiday season in Corona.
On Nov. 13, 2014, the Corona Police Department hosted the 2014 Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at the Corona Public Library Grand Blvd Room. The dinner honors and recognized over 100 police volunteers who provide thousands of hours of service to the department and the community. The volunteers serve in various areas of the police department and are separated in different volunteer groups
The City of Corona’s Animal Shelter has teamed with thousands of animal organizations from around the world to participate in an annual pet adoption drive called Home 4 the Holidays. home for the holidaysThe Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption drive began with a growing concern for the number of rescue facilities closing their doors during the holiday seasons.
Food Runners is hosting their third annual 5k Can Run to support the Corona- Norco Settlement house on Nov 15, 2014. Once again the Can Run will be collecting cans of food in lieu of a registration fee. In 2013 the Can Run brought in 3000 pounds of nonperishable food, with an attendance of more than 700 people and in 2012 the event collected 3057 pounds of goods with about 500 people in attendance.
