Library Celebrates 20 Years with Jazz

CPL anniversaryIn 1971, the second Corona Public Library building opened its doors at Sixth & Main Street. The building was 19,016 square feet, could accommodate 60,000 books, had a seating capacity of 100 and parking capacity of 57.  By the late 1980s the library had outgrown the building, so staff, volunteers, and community members began fundraising and lobbying for a new library building.

The building is now 62,300 square feet, has double the seating capacity, a book capacity of 198,000, has a bookshop for the Friends of the Corona Public Library, and triple the parking of the previous building.
